6 Things I Wish I’d Learned At 20 – Robin Sharma

Notes:

1. You can play with toxic people or you can live at world class – you cannot do both

Delete the people that steal your joy. You may have more power than you think and you have the power to let go people.

2. Everything that happens to you is for your growth

A bad day for ego is a great day for soul. Don’t be a resentment collector. If you want to be a legendary leader, you have to go through a lot of suffering. You have to be knocked down and laughed at. Everything that happens to you is good. It is designed to burn away your ego and have more fluency and authenticity in life. It is the time of suffering that makes you great. Imagine how brave you will be if you are detached from all the outcomes.

3. When you own your morning, you’ll elevate your life

There is magic when you wake up before sunrise and everybody else.

4. There is difference between being busy and genuine productivity

There is difference between movement and getting things done. Be much more interested in quality work than busy work. Master of yes vs. magician of no. Be purist instead of generalist.

5. It does not matter what other people are doing, all that matters is who you becoming and how far you have traveled

Comparison is a thief of joy (Theodore Roosevelt). You can follow the crowd and do what everybody is doing or you can run your own race, trust your instinct, be authentic, speak with your own voice, pursue your own ambitions. Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.

6. The most loving person in a room wins

When you take care of the relationship, the money takes care of itself. The business of business is truly connect with other human beings.
