How to become a better person?
I was getting in trouble when I was young but then when I was 19 a met this generous person who thought me that the reason why am I getting into so much trouble is that I don’t believe in myself. He thought me how to become a better person. If you start to change what you think and you start for one hour a day to upgrade your knowledge and skills and you take action every day on the skills that are the most important to you. He thought me to follow the blueprint. Don’t reinvent the wheel. There is blueprint for flying and for loosing weight.
My morning ritual starts with gratitude exercise, then physical exercise. I also look in the mirror and say: I accept you just the way you are and go to a 15 minute meditation. Nothing in particular, sometimes I am just one with the universe and sometimes I am following my thoughts. I am teaching my brain that I am in control of my brain.
Build habits to become a better person
It is not the eyes that see, it is the brain. If I want to make a commitment, it is either 100 days or nothing. I also come up with a strategy how to achieve that new pattern of thinking.
Your brain does not like change but if you try long enough it will become a habit. Ultimately you have to chose what will you trade your life for. Is your life trading for this?
Don’t ask yourself if you are worthy for that goal. Ask if the goal is worthy for you. If you have big enough reason, you will do whatever it takes.
Our brain tries to move away from anything that can potentially hurt us.
5R process to change your behavior
- Recognize the emotions that affect you
- Respond to those emotions
- Reframe – How can you reframe that situation? What can you do so it won’t have the same meaning?
- Release the emotions – observe the emotion for 2 minutes
- Retrain your brain
There are not good and bad emotions. There are pleasant and unpleasant. Unpleasant emotion is usually a memory from the past.
Become someone else
The environment shapes who you are. If you want to achieve some result you have never achieved, you need to become someone else – get new skills, master your emotions better.
It is not that the change is impossible. It is just that most people are not willing to commit to switching from what is comfortable to what is not long enough to become comfortable. Why not acquire the skill to become comfortable with change?

Build a business
Building a business is all about recognizing patterns, which move to make at the right time. You have 4 options:
- Do it yourself and figure it out
- Get help
- Get it done for you
- Don’t do it
Exercise that John was given at 19
- Put down all your goals in all the areas of your life
- Make them much greater
- What do you have to believe on order to achieve those goals?
- What do you think you have to do every day?
If you invest 1 hour a day on your personal growth and changing who you think you are, that is equivalent of 9 40-hour weeks of effort.
